But what of my childhood favorites- I remember Saturday mornings being reserved for cartoons. Now you can't find any good ones unless they're on one of the dozen or so cartoon channels. I think that's the reason we had so many good ones back in the 80's. We didn't have cartoon-only channels. We had our locals and they were all in competition for who had the best line-up.
I would get up a few minutes before 5 so I could watch The Paw-Paw Bears-
And of course, if I was up that early, I generally caught Kids Incorporated, too, though it wasn't a cartoon- It wasn't until recently that I realized Fergie of The Black-Eyed Peas was Stacey! I did know who Martika and Mario Lopez were and silly as it was, I had a crush on Riley, who was one of the managers of The P*lace were the kids hung out and performed.
Then the day kicked off into Smurfs & Snorks
Snorks, who I've long suspected were actually just multi-colored Underwater Smurfs- I mean, after all, several of them even sounded the same!
followed by HOURS of Bugs Bunny & Looney Tunes and sometimes even Tom & Jerry.
I miss Saturday mornings like that and wish it was something I could share with my children. Sure, some of these still air, but not on Saturday mornings.
What were some of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons?
Were there certain ones you wouldn't miss?

Other than Looney Tunes - which were my FAVE - I also remember a cartoon called "The Littles" which I really liked.
Like you, I wish I could share the joy of Saturday morning cartoons with my kids. Sure, they like cartoons, but they don't get that excitement about Saturday mornings.
We did purchase a few Tom & Jerry DVDs and my boys LOVE them. They prefer them over present-day cartoons!
