On account of good news!
I got my email this morning- my acceptance email from RWA with my member #. I'm now a member or Romance Writers of America!!! I've still got to fill out my application for Kentucky Romance Writers Chapter, but I've already crossed the first hurdle. Husband thought I was silly and laughed at me when I started bouncing in my chair a little while ago over my excitement! hehehe!
Today marks a good start of the day for me. Very cool and I thought for sure it would be several weeks before I heard anything, but not so. That was quick like lightning.

Taryn, I remember how excited I was when I first found the romance writers group here in Kentucky and was able to join. Back then, we didn't even have a loop. Not long after I became a member we started the loop, but there still was no such thing as Yahoogroups. We always had to hit "reply all" to messages so they would go out to everyone in the group. *g*
Congratulations on this milestone!
I'm trying this again. The first one disappeared.
Taryn, I remember how excited I was when I first found there were other romance writers here in Kentucky. Back then there still was no such thing as Yahoogroups. As a matter of fact, I got my first computer after I joined. We formed an email loop by hitting "reply to all" for each message so that it would go out to everyone. Those were the days. *g*
Congratulations on this milestone along your writing journey! You're now "official." :o)
Hey Devon- I posted both of your comments. They didn't disappear- I had to set my comments to moderate because I had a rogue comment a while back from someone anonymously that was disturbing and hurtful. I have no idea who it was, but thought maybe I should keep an eye on my comments. ;o)
Thanks so much! I just printed out my KYRW's application and getting ready to write my check to put it in the mail, hopefully today! :D
Taryn, I thought BOTH my comments were eaten by cyber gremlins. I'm bothered that you got a comment that was hurtful. Makes me wonder just who all does read posts and such.
Listen, for what it's worth, someone recently told me that when people say or do things that are hurtful, it's because they feel threatened in some way. When I really looked at a few things in that context I saw that it's probably true. I have no idea about the nature of the comment, but I'd venture to guess that the poster was jealous in some way, shape or form.
Wow! You'll be in KYRW before you know it. They'll get you on the loop immediately. Once you're there, please ask anything that pops into your head of the entire group. We've had several new members in the past few months, but nobody's talking. I don't even know who they are because they don't speak up, ever.
Anyway, I'd like to be the first to welcome you aboard. When you show up on the loop I'll holler a big howdy there, too. :o)
