Coming MAY 20th~ @RuthieCardello New #Release RISE OF THE BILLIONAIRE #excerpt
Dreaming of Alethea gave Jeremy Kater the strength to survive a difficult childhood. Now that he has influential friends who owe him big favors, he's determined to become the kind of man Alethea would be interested in - rich and dangerous. Jeisa Borreto was hired to help Jeremy morph into that man. It's a job she would enjoy, if it weren’t tearing her heart to pieces.
How do you help someone change, when you already love who they are?
Hint: Sleeping with them doesn't help.
Excerpt:
How do you help someone change, when you already love who they are?
Hint: Sleeping with them doesn't help.
Excerpt:
He paused and shook his head. Jeisa slid beneath one of his arms again to help steady him. The heat from his body spread like a wildfire through her own. Jeremy was all man now and everywhere their bodies touched, Jeisa felt just how much he’d changed. The strong arm draped across her shoulders no longer felt like it belonged to a man who spent his life behind a computer. Boxing was only a small piece of Jeremy’s plan to physically transform himself. He’d started running and lifting weights very soon after they’d met. Jeisa hadn’t thought it was necessary… But oh, the results were nice.
He stumbled as they walked. Her hand flew up to steady him, coming to a rest in the middle of his hard chest and she felt him catch his breath.
Is he thinking what I’m thinking?
No, no, no, she thought frantically.
Unlike me, Jeremy has always been painfully honest.
Remember that he’s doing all of this to win the heart of a woman.
Another woman.
As in, not me.
Her body didn’t care. She looked past the swelling and the blood and all she could see were his beautiful, sexy blue eyes. They paused for what seemed an eternity and she couldn’t look away.
What would it be like to be loved by a man who is willing to do anything to win your heart?
You could be yourself with such a man.
Love like that doesn’t follow the rules.
It is sweaty, and passionate, and the stuff that romances are made of.
An odd expression entered Jeremy’s eyes and he straightened away from her, breaking contact. “Jeisa,” he said in a gruff voice, “let’s go home.”
“Yes,” she said, and mentally kicked herself for allowing the lines between employer and friend to blur. She was part of Jeremy’s life.
Just not in the way she wanted to be.

What’s the most
interesting or bizarre bit of trivia you’ve learned from researching for a
novel? That I can learn to trust Wikipedia. Isn’t that interesting? And
maybe a little scary?
Novel on your Nightstand:
Who/what are you
currently reading? Simple Abundance
in the morning and Temptation Ridge
by Robyn Carr at night.
Whom would you cast
as your Main Characters/Hero/Heroine if your book became a movie? Ooh! Fun…
Years ago, the best would have been Meg Ryan as determined artist Chloe McClain
and Harrison Ford as the stubborn but sexy Greg Andrews. Sigh
Chloe McClain is an artist, so she’s used to creating something from nothing. This time, though, the project is bigger than her usual canvas—this time she’s bought a big dilapidated building to rehab into a classy art gallery. Should be easy enough; she’ll hire Greg Andrews and his construction crew. Greg’s work has gotten good reviews from everyone in Legend. Of course there is kind of a rush on the project…
Greg is a professional, and his professional opinion is that Chloe’s pile of bricks should be put out of its misery. There’s no way he can bring the place up to code by her deadline, let alone turn it into the showplace she has in mind. But Chloe’s a McClain, and besides a wide stubborn streak, that means deep pockets. Speaking of which, Greg can’t keep his eyes off the back pockets of Chloe’s jeans...
When you live in Legend, Tennessee, there are certain things to remember. People in Legend pull together. Community before self. And you never want to take a wrong step around a McClain—even the cute females.

What book(s) most
influenced you as a writer? To be perfectly honest, I’ve read a lot of
books, but it wasn’t until I met Margaret Ethridge and read her work that I
felt inspired. She’s entirely responsible for renewing my love of reading, and
with her guidance and encouragement I managed to break into the author scene
too.
What book do you read
over and over again? Um, I’ve read Inamorata by Margaret Ethridge three
times now. So I’ll say that. And I’ll stop talking about her now. Or at least
I’ll try. :D

In the Friday Spotlight- Grin & Barrett by @RuthjHartman #TMPress @FictionWitches @turquoisemorn
$2.99 on Kindle
Remmie Grin is a self-sufficient dentist who has her life right where she wants it.
That is, until handsome, flirty Dr. Victor Barrett moves in next door. He constantly bugs her about selling her practice to him—but she’s not budging.
How can she convince him to leave her alone when all she really wants him to do is kiss her again?
Author Bio: Ruth J. Hartman is a romance author as well as a licensed dental hygienist. She writes sweet, humorous romance novels. Often times they revolve around dentistry, cats, or both. She lives in rural Indiana with her husband of 29 years, and two extremely spoiled, fat cats. More about her books can be found at her website: www.ruthjhartman.blogspot.com

Reviews:
A delightful book, even better than the others I've reviewed. In
fact, I'd say this is Ruth's best so far! There...is that committing
myself enough? The dialogue between Victor and Remmie, from the first
quip about her name to the last line is sharp and fast and full of wit.
The scenes with Remmie's cats and felinophobe Victor are amusing, and
the whole story moves at a pace which makes you want to keep reading
without taking a breath between words
My favourite scene was the impromptu date at the movies -- the
hero's erstwhile attempts to gain the heroine's favour, and her feisty
resistance, are nothing less than perfect. The back-and-forth banter
reminds me of the courtship of Gilbert Blythe and Anne of Green Gables.
Hartman has a direct line into my youthful daydreams about being an
independent woman and falling in love
In Grin and Barrett, when two dentists are after the same location
sparks fly.This was a fun read filled with good old fashioned romance.
Great Book, I loved it! If you like your loves stories with a lot of sass and humor. GET THIS BOOK!

We’re all mad here.
~The Cheshire Cat
~The Cheshire Cat
When Cheris McDowell wakes up in a hotel room next to the husband she doesn’t remember meeting, she decides the only practical solution is a quiet divorce.
Too bad the rest of the world disagrees.
As an Internet advice guru, Cheris ought to know how to fix the mess she woke up to, but when her own web master conspires to keep the marriage going, Cheris is at a loss.
Geoff Arrowood III, her new husband, isn’t helping the situation. He’s way too charming and looks a little too good in a Tuxedo.
Will Cheris choose a little storybook madness or the sensible advice of the wisdom she’s followed all her life?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt: Drink Me
“I dare you,” her companion murmured.
“I don’t take dares,” Cheris replied shooting him a disdainful look.
“What about a double dog dare?” He winked, and Cheris’ stomach fluttered. “Do you take those?”
It was silly, really, letting this stranger impel her to anything. Squaring her shoulders she stepped forward into the looking glass and retrieved the drink. Bringing it to her lips, she sipped once and discovered it to be mild yet sweet—similar to cantaloupe in the peak of its season.
“Mmm. Very nice.” She tilted the cup and drained it. “I’ve never tasted anything quite like it.” She licked her lips and tilted her head.
Picking up another glass, she set the empty one in its place. “Go over there and drink one.”
The man raised his eyebrows, but walked to the chair. They faced each other as he determined the correct glass to pick up.
“Yes. That’s the one.” Cheris drank from the second glass enjoying the cool liquid. “I’ve got to find out what this stuff—oh!” She gasped as she tripped over the frame.
At once he was at her side steadying her. “Careful there, Alice. It’s the rabbit hole you’re supposed to fall into.”
Oh. My. Goodness.
Cheris’ hands were on his arms, her fingers sliding over the material, reveling in the solid flesh underneath.
She raised her face and blinked up at him. “Whoever you may be,” she drawled. “I have always depended on kindness in strangers.”
Author Bio: I grew up as a flower child named Francesca in
Uruguay, making my first “B” movie at fourteen. I was a sensation
locally, but, tragically, the world did not appreciate my talents. My
lover, Bruno, intent on killing me because of my infidelity, forced me
to flee to the United States, the land of new beginnings and redemption.
I have a recurring dream, however, that I am a North American woman
from Alabama, USA. I go to Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia and later
to graduate school in Georgia. My dream continues that I marry a man who
teaches math and that we have two children who share with us in our
happy existence in the United States, far away from Uruguay and my
checkered past. In my dream, my name is Jennifer Johnson. It is a
common, yet lovely name, which allows me to be free from the clutches of
Bruno. Oh, wait. Maybe my dream is my life. Yes, it is! I do, however,
love to create other worlds to dream in and fall in love with. I wrote
my first love story in seventh grade. It was about two teenagers who
meet at beach camp. They get stranded on a top bunk of a bed by a wolf. I
kept this epic novel in a bright pink notebook and carried it with me
everywhere. It disappeared one day and; alas, the young lovers’ story
was never resolved. If I had finished it, it would have been a happy
ending because I’m a big believer in happy endings! And I’m still hoping
that pink notebook will show up somewhere. P.S. I can’t take credit for
Francesca—she’s from an old Kids in the Hall comedy sketch. Learn more
#TuesdayswithTaryn Q&A with Teresa Reasor aka @teresareasor
Tuesdays with Taryn
Please welcome with me- Teresa Reasor, fellow Kentucky writer, artist and teacher.
What book(s) most
influenced you as a writer?
I have a list. I loved Sandra Browns earlier works. And Kathleen
Woodiwiss definitely influenced my historical romance writing. One of the best
compliments I’ve ever gotten is a reader review for my historical Highland
Moonlight. She said anyone who enjoyed Kathleen Woodiwiss’s books would
love Highland Moonlight. I didn’t pattern Moonlight after Woodiwiss’s work, or
try to steal her voice, that would be impossible, but the love story does have
a similar feel to it.
I love reading male
writers. Michael Connelly has had an influence, Dean Koontz’s earlier works,
and, believe it or not, Steven King.
The writing craft
books having had an influence on my writing have been numerous. I try to read a
craft book at least once a month. I never stop learning, evolving.
The very first book
on writing I ever bought was one by Phyllis Whitney. I’d read all of her
novels, still have them. And I bought that book and— the rest was history. I
had to write. That was when I was in college, many, many moons ago. I still use
the same research process I learned from that book. Story by Robert McKee, Word
Painting by Rebecca McClanahan, Stephen King’s On Writing, Orson Scott Card’s
book on Characters and Viewpoint, and Johnny Payne’s on Voice and Style are
some of my favorites I still go back and revisit.
What book do you read
over and over again? That depends on what I’m working on at the moment.
While writing my Navy Navy
SEAL series I have a stack of reading material I revisit over and over. The
Warrior Elite, The Finishing School, and Down Range, all by Dick Couch and Lone
Survivor by Marcus Luttrell among a list of others.
When I’m working on other things I’ll choose reading
material germane to my subject matter. I have to immerse myself in the subject
to get a feel for the knowledge my characters will have. But it’s more than
that. It’s to understand what reactions my characters will have to the
conflicts I throw at them. I’m constantly reading male writers to try and
improve my MAN SPEAK.
Tuesday Trio-
1)
Movie-
Underworld the first one with Kate Beckinsale and Scot Speedman
2)
Music-
The Red Violin Soundtrack, Joshua Bell is fantastic!
3)
Decadent
Dessert- Death by chocolate. A chocolate brownie with chunks of chocolate baked
in, topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a grated
What’s the most
interesting or bizarre bit of trivia you’ve learned from researching for a
novel? That George Washington’s physicians probably killed him trying to cure
him of something simple like a bad chest cold. They tortured him. They even
burnt the bottoms of his feet. I think he finally died to escape them.
Novel on your Nightstand:
Who/what are you
currently reading?
I have a stack of books in the floor next to my bedside
table. They’re my to be read books. The Wolf Gift, by Anne Rice, May Day by
Thomas Block, The Rope by Navada Barr, and Malice by Lisa Jackson are a few of
them. I also have the complete works of Jane Austin all in one volume. I think
it weights at least ten pounds. And though I’ve read several of them in the
past, I’m revisiting them this summer. By second book, Captive
Hearts, was a Regency Romance so what better way to review the premises
included in Regency than reading Jane Austen.
Whom would you cast
as your Hero & Heroine if your book became a movie?
Highland Moonlight
(Kevin McKidd and Kate Beckinsale)
Captive Hearts (Ioan Gruffudd and Sophia Miles)
Breaking Free (Eric Bana and Emily Blunt)
Timeless (Garrard
Butler and Michelle Williams)
Breaking Through (Chris Evans and Emma Stone)
Not that I’ve thought about it much!!!
Blurb: For Timeless
Archaeology student, Regan Stanhope, lands the chance of a
