A delightful book, even better than the others I've reviewed. In fact, I'd say this is Ruth's best so far! There...is that committing myself enough? The dialogue between Victor and Remmie, from the first quip about her name to the last line is sharp and fast and full of wit. The scenes with Remmie's cats and felinophobe Victor are amusing, and the whole story moves at a pace which makes you want to keep reading without taking a breath between words

I also feel great today as I added over 4,000 words to my current work in progress yesterday by doing #1k1hr challenges with a few other fellow writers. 3 hours of that and I had almost 4k. In total I knocked out 4,018, which leaves me not all that far from my 80k (approx) word count goal. Seeing as how I'm not far from it, I can feel "the end" just around the corner and that generally gets me pumped to finish writing.

Add to that, I'm starting to get excited about writing the next one, which means I'm going to be scouring Amazon's Kindle Store for some books about Pacific Coast surfing, the history of surfing and competition, etc. for research. Gotta know how to speak the lingo and catch a gnarly wave. (If anyone has any good suggestions on books for researching that subject, please feel free to leave a comment about it.)

My visit to Hallee's blog yesterday also got me to thinking about whether there will be a continuation of Castaway Hearts somewhere in the future. It's definitely something I've thought about and I am considering it. I have notes and ideas jotted, though I know further research will be necessary to travel forward a few years in time with each new heroine/hero from Catherine and Dawson's family tree. It's not completely off the table, so I will be chewing on that for a bit until I feel the "draw" to begin another one. I have a feeling that it will have to wait until I'm at least finished with the surf novel mentioned above.

And now, seeing as how its the first day of summer vacation, I'm off to see whether I can get any writing done before the little monsters need to be fed (they do have to be fed, right?) ;)

Please help me welcome Margaret Ethridge, fellow Turquoise Morning Press author to Tuesdays with Taryn. Margaret is author of several short stories, as well as Paramour and Contentment.

What book(s) most influenced you as a writer? Wow. I’ve read my way through so many authors over the years: Nora Roberts, LaVyrle Spencer, Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood…I could go on and on. Recently, I’ve fallen in love with Sarah Addison Allen’s books. They’re so charming and magical. She makes me want to be a better writer.

What book do you read over and over again? There are a few that I consider classics: Perfect by Judith McNaught, Scruples by Judtith Krantz, and Carnal Innocence by Nora Roberts are long-time favorites. In the past year I have read and re-read Outlander & Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon as well as Garden Spells and The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen.

What’s the most interesting or bizarre bit of trivia you’ve learned from researching for a novel? I can’t think of anything bizarre. Most of my research tends to be about physical/medical conditions.

Whom would you cast as your Hero & Heroine if your book became a movie?

I hope you’re allowing time travel in this casting call.... While writing Commitment, I saw Maggie McCann as a Maureen O’Hara type – feisty, beautiful, and not afraid to follow through once she makes up her mind. Tom Sullivan would be harder to cast, but I think Aiden Quinn could handle it nicely. Or I could handle him… With my April release, Spring Chickens, I definitely had a young Paul Newman in mind the moment I conjured Bram Hatchett. Lynne is definitely the Renee Russo type.

Commitment

Tom Sullivan wants a woman who is willing to accept him as he is. The successful divorce attorney has seen enough of the flip side of love to know better than to promise forever. Women have tried to pin him down, but none have managed to make it stick.

Until Maggie McCann.

This is from one of my former Kentucky Romance Writers (KYRW) Chapter-mates and she's a TMP author. I love Cheryl's romantic suspense books- Restore my Heart, Reclaim my Life, Remember my Love and Rebuild my World. I've read them all and in no time flat because they're definitely page turners. The best part is that all the stories are connected and that's a plus in my book. I love books where I get a glimpse back at past favorite characters to see how they're doing as well- it's like touching base with family.
